Finally, I just had to be more proactive.
When I chose to stay at home and work remotely from now on, I was really surprised that it came to this. I was the person who was hollering the loudest when the company wanted to close the office and kick us out of the zone controlled HVAC. This was the very last thing I wanted to happen because I hated the thought of working from home. I liked the office and my colleagues. Plus, I so didn’t want to share the home office with my husband. He got sent home to work from the central air conditioning of home quicker than I did. That man spends most of his work day on the phone and my work takes more of a quiet focus. Plus, we have children that we had to be cooped up in the central air conditioning with as well. So I was so not looking forward to working from home. It started out just about the way I thought it would and was just not good. I couldn’t get the hang of the online meetings and I wasn’t able to concentrate as I tried working under the HVAC air duct at the kitchen table. Finally, I just had to be more proactive. So I ended up clearing out a big section of the basement and we had three walls put up to make me a nice office. This was the quietest part of the house but I needed some heating and cooling. So the HVAC professionals installed a ductless heat pump down there. And that’s where I am working today!
