I get a pretty hard time from my brother.
You’d think that after all these years, he’d lighten up. The thing is, the guy is just a beautiful dude who is so mellow and quick to smile. But when it comes to me, he loves to needle and poke to get a reaction from me. All those years being stuck inside the same air conditioning with all that needling may have had a big impact on my personality. I tend to remain very calm and cool in order to keep my emotions off my sleeve. It’s great for poker and a direct result of getting poked at by my brother. And he’s relentless really. We came back to my place after playing golf one afternoon to find no HVAC cooling. Now, the HVAC equipment was running just like it always does though it just wouldn’t cycle off. Well the reason for that is there was no HVAC cooling coming from the air ducts. It was running but no air conditioning. I turned it off after checking the ductwork at the different ends of the house. Of course, my brother is diagnosing the situation out loud while I’m doing that. Once I had the HVAC equipment off, I simply picked up my phone and called the HVAC company. My brother just goes ape on this as he thinks that we ought to try and fix it ourselves. So I asked him if his HVAC license and certifications were up to date. He told me that he thought we were smart enough to get the HVAC cooling back on. I told him that I was smart enough to know that I had no business attempting an HVAC repair.
