Loving the addition for my hobbies

I’m not sure that I should call what I do a hobby any longer.

  • In fact, I’m not too far away from turning a passion into a job.

Recently, I chose to cut my hours in half inside the commercial HVAC at my day job. This way, I can spend more time creating my stuff and finding a market for it. I do all sorts of creative art work in a number of mediums. I actually got my degree in art but went to work at a straight job inside central air conditioning like everyone else. However, I never gave up on my dream to do more than just tinker around with my art. I actually started out doing a few commissioned pieces and then moved on from there. These days, my husband and I just had an addition put on to be my studio. The new addition has its own heating and cooling as well. This is something that I really wasn’t expecting. I guess I just figured that perhaps the HVAC professionals would just run the ductwork out to the new room. But the HVAC contractor explained that this wouldn’t work. When heating and cooling equipment is installed, it’s rated to a certain amount of air volume for the space it serves. By simply adding on the new room, we’d overwhelm the HVAC equipment and it wouldn’t be able to meet HVAC demand. So we have a ductless heat pump inside my new studio and I love it. This thing produces great quality heating and air while doing so with great efficiency.
