We really aren’t ready to close the pool down for the winter yet, but our heating system isn’t working anymore.
I don’t know what’s going on with it, but there is definitely something wrong with it.
We used it all summer long without the heating unit because it was so hot here this year that we really did not even need it most of the time. I don’t know if you have ever had a pool without a heater, but most of the time if you don’t have a heater, the water can get really cold really fast. That is especially true if you have a really rainy summer the way that we have had. The temperatures here haven’t really been all that hot this summer anyway, and so the pool is cooling off a lot quicker than it normally would have. I still want to keep using the pool until it starts snowing in the winter, but I don’t think that it is going to be possible to do that unless we get the heating system fixed. I checked the temperature of the pool the other day and it was already down to 78 degrees. That might sound pretty warm, but the fact is that whenever you’re dealing with water in a pool, it feels a lot colder than it actually is. I am going to try calling the HVAC company tomorrow to see if there is anything that they can do to work on the heating system. I don’t even know if they ever work on pool heaters, but the pool guy that we usually use has moved away so I don’t know who else to call.
