Medical marijuana is legal in the state where I live, but my boss doesn’t know that I use marijuana.
A lot of my coworkers use marijuana as well, but I am the only person that actually has a card from the state.
That still doesn’t mean that it is legal. I work in a competitive industry with heating and AC repair technicians. I am not allowed to be under the influence of marijuana while I am at work. I had to take a drug test before I started the job. I stopped smoking for a couple of days in order to get a job with the heating and AC repair company. When some items came up missing in a customer’s home, the customer contacted the heating and AC repair company. She immediately claimed that one of the repair technicians stole the items from her home. That set off a bomb inside of the heating and AC repair company and everyone suffered. My boss immediately ordered everyone to take a urine test. I honestly don’t know how marijuana and stolen stuff have anything to do with each other. I knew that I was going to be in trouble as soon as I heard about the test. I grabbed one of my co-workers and I asked him if he could pee in the cup for me. He said that he would help me out, but we ended up going in to the room individually. I didn’t pass the test and I lost my job the next day. I have no idea what happened to the customer, but I know that the thief wasn’t me.
