We discovered the HVAC experts onboard the cruise ship were overworked

We were at our son’s college play, which was followed by a fundraising event.

We purchased some raffle tickets to support the drama club and were over the moon to learn that we won the grand prize. We got a 1 month stay on a deluxe ocean cruise line, in a private suite. Both of us have not won many things in our lives, and nothing as fancy as this. This being our first time on a cruise ship, we were beyond happy for the trip. It turned out to be better than we’d thought it would be, a total break from the drudgery of our day to day life. We hate sounding corny, but it was magical. After our fifth day on board we both said we never wanted to go home, and started asking around how to use our Heating and A/C skills to get a job on a cruise ship. It did not take long, as we spoke to a ships’ attendant and learned that the HVAC experts that were on staff were always busy. Each cruise ship has a big series of Heating and A/C systems onboard, to ensure there was temp control in all of the dozens (if not hundreds) of rooms. In addition, the greater cruise ships had a full department of Heating and A/C experts. Not to mention job security was never an issue because there was always work to be done. We didn’t send in our applications during the cruise, of course, because we were enjoying our trip. But, we did get the contact info for the head of the cruise line Heating and A/C department. This person did all the hiring for all the Heating and A/C experts on all the cruise ships.
