Curtis was at his son’s college play, which was followed by a fundraiser.
After buying some raffle tickets to support the drama club, he was so amazed to learn that he won the grand prize.
Curtis had a one month stay on a deluxe ocean cruise line, in a private suite. He had not won anything like this before. Having never been on a cruise before, Curtis was beyond happy for the trip. It turned out to be better than he possibly imagined, and a chance to get away from the drudgery of his day to day life. Curtis wasn’t intending to be corny, but it was magical. After his second day on board he felt like he never wanted to go home. Curtis began finding out how to use his HVAC skills to get a job on a cruise ship. That was a no brainer. He spoke to a ships’ attendant and found out that the HVAC techs that were on staff were severely overworked, but each cruise ship has a big series of HVAC systems onboard, to supply temp control in all of the dozens (if not hundreds) of rooms. The greater cruise ships had an entire department of HVAC techs, and job security was never a problem because of all the work available. Curtis didn’t get a job during the cruise, of course, because he was enjoying his holiday. He did however get the contact info for the head of the cruise line HVAC department. This woman did all the hiring for all the HVAC crews on all the cruise ships.
