This week has been one of my all time best. In the course of my regular weekly activities, I landed a freelance task. It pays some good money, has some interesting rewards, and combines my career with my favorite pastime – cannabis. I was in the dispensary, because I constantly go there on my way to the apartment from the office each night. I wanted to top up my supply of buds and oils. I am a weekly cannabis smoker, and have been since high school. As I was stepping out of the store, I overheard a conversation about a new smokers lounge. The fancy space would need a custom ventilation method to meet the legal requirements. My career is a HVAC tech during the day, so this was right up my alley. Being a sole proprietorship, on a limited budget, I had a private talk about trading goods and services for my HVAC skills. I could do the job, if the owner paid for all the materials I’d need to update the ventilation system, but only really working at night when the dispensary was closed. It was possible to have the ventilation method done in a week. I literally brokered a deal trading HVAC skills for cannabis, and I have never been more happy with myself. In the future I’ll supply all needed upkeep for the ventilation system, because I go there frequently so it won’t even be a chore.
