I can’t even tell you how annoying it is when my husband has to go out on house calls when it is a holiday weekend.
So many times when we were trying to enjoy ourselves during a holiday weekend at home with our family, he ends up getting a call for an emergency heating or cooling repair and he has to go jump in the HVAC truck and head out.
It is so annoying to me and to the rest of the family whenever this happens. But I guess that there really isn’t anything that we can do about it, as long as he’s working for this particular heating and cooling company. He’s been there for a long time now, and so he’s not really looking for a new job at this point. I don’t blame him, though. I know that he really likes his job, but I just hate the way they seem to use him for all of the hours that nobody else wants to work. I feel like they are really taking him for granted. He always goes out and does all of the heating service calls and the air conditioning maintenance calls, no matter what time it is or what day it is. I think that my husband is probably the most dependable person who works there. Out of all of the other HVAC technicians who work at the company, he’s the only one who is willing to work all of the overtime that they ask him to. I’m glad that he is willing to work the extra hours to help take care of our family, but I just wish that he didn’t have to do it on holidays!
