I learned the hard way with my shoddy DIY boiler installation

I have always been such a hands-on person. As a child, I would take apart an entire device just so I would study how it worked and how it was put together then assemble it all from memory. I was the fixer in our household as I fixed all the devices that were spoilt. As a grown-up, I thought I could save up on cost and do the fitting all on my own. I needed to fully immerse myself in information online on how to do a boiler installation. After feeling that I had taken in enough information, I visited the homeowner solution business within our city and purchased the heat and AC products. This equipment included an electric heat pump with central heating. I took my time fitting the furnace as I wanted to be thorough. Though I had a functioning fireplace, I still felt like I needed a hot water boiler to help maintain whole home heating. For increased indoor air quality, I made sure to use a HEPA filter as it traps even the smallest particle. After installing the unit, I connected it to the other wifi devices in my home to make a smart HVAC and purchased a programmable thermostat. The job took approximately two days and I was very happy with myself for such good work for a novice. However my joy was short-lived a week into enjoying my new heating and cooling unit, it suddenly stopped working. The HVAC repairman told me that I had forgotten to put critical equipment causing the entire system to break down. I paid a lot for the boiler repair and thought I was better off having a reputable technician to handle the system.
