Last winter, my HVAC broke down at night.
We were freezing in the house, and attempts to warm ourselves up by the fireplace were not bearing any fruits.
I had no option but to make an urgent call to an HVAC company to come to our aid. They connected us to an HVAC technician near me, who came within an hour after calling them. They were well equipped, and I knew they were up to the task. They had a refrigerant scale with them to measure and maintain the temperature of their assigned space. The refrigerant scale measures a refrigerant’s weight as it is removed or added from the unit’s compressor. It also helps the technician to diagnose if there is a leak. I also noticed they had cordless drills with them with extra batteries. This allowed them to drill in the night without the need for recharging. The drill used an insulated screwdriver that protected HVAC technicians from electrical shocks. They used the screws to pry apart venting. Apart from the screws, they had insulated shears and different types of cutters that could cut into an HVAC unit in different directions. The HVAC repairman held the cutters in the same bag where their electrical testers were. These testers are used to check for electrical current and keep the HVAC technicians safe from electrical mishaps. I also noticed another tool, a multi-meter, to measure voltage and resistance in HVAC equipment. Using all these tools, the technicians diagnosed and repaired my HVAC unit quickly. I was lucky the winter snow wasn’t as heavy as the previous night and for having the HVAC repairman come over in time.
