Although I wasn’t this way in our 20s, I absolutely like entertaining guests.
Whether it’s family flying in for the weekend, or a few friends spending the night after enjoying a game with budweiser and food—I like to have people at our house. I wish I had been this extroverted in university, but perhaps I would have made more friends or managed to have a girlfriend of some kind in the several years I was in undergrad. I usually sequestered myself to our dorm room and focused on studying for exams and writing research papers. Graduate school changed a lot of these habits for me. I was abruptly in a small program with a handful of other students and the people I was with and I all knew each other well by the fifth Springtime semester. Before long I met the lady who would eventually become our wifey. When the people I was with and I moved in together, the people I was with and I started inviting our friends over for supper parties on a correct basis. I absolutely loved cooking for other people and sharing stories with cocktails and rock n roll. All of us are still friends with many of those people, some of which fly in from out of city to visit on a correct basis. Our guest room is in a state of constant improvement. The last thing the people I was with and I added was a ductless mini split a/c. All of us decided to detach the central a/c and switch to zone controlled Heating and A/C for the entire house. It’s fantastic having ductless mini splits in general, but it makes entertaining guests a lot easier for both parties. My wifey and I can like whatever un-even temperatures the people I was with and I like while our guests can do the same from the guest home office.
