I’m not exactly sure what it is, because I’m not an HVAC technician or anything like that. But there is definitely something weird going on with the HVAC system at my church. I’ve been noticing it for a while now, but at first I thought it was just me. I didn’t really think that there was an issue going on with the heating and cooling system at all. I thought maybe my own body heat regulation was messed up for some reason. After all, I am getting to be a woman of a more advanced age and that happens to us sometimes! All I know is that every week when I go to church, I feel like the heating and cooling switches back and forth throughout the service. I never know if I need to wear a heavy coat because it feels like the air conditioning is running and blowing right down on my head from the air vents in the ceiling, or if I will need to bring along a fan in my purse! Last week, the temperature outside was almost twenty degrees and so I wore my coat to church. However, once we got inside and started the worship service, it felt exactly like we were standing inside of a furnace! I was sweating before the first song was even over and I felt like I might pass out from all of the hot air coming from the heating vents. I don’t really even know who to complain to about this issue, because I don’t know if it’s something wrong with the HVAC unit, or if it’s just me!
