I Had To Use Fans At My Best Friend’s Wedding

When my best friend asked me to be her maid of honor on her wedding day, I was ecstatic! We’d been dreaming of this moment ever since we were little girls, so she knew exactly what she wanted.

We had every detail planned for her big day, and we even came up with different backup scenarios for things that could go wrong.

We had it all planned, except for one thing. Neither of us anticipated the AC going out in the church just hours before she was scheduled to walk down the aisle. All the bridesmaids were getting ready in a spare room at the church when we started feeling warm. At first, we assumed it was because there were so many of us in one room and we were sipping on champagne. Even after cracking a window though, we still remained hot. Everyone was sweating so much and the makeup artist was having a difficult time keeping the makeup on everyone’s faces. As the maid of honor, it was my job to keep the bride cool and find a solution. I called the head of the church and asked how to turn the AC back on, but they said they weren’t able to fix it on such short notice. They did however, have a bunch of fans in one of the closets because apparently this happened a lot. I didn’t tell my best friend about the fans because I knew she wouldn’t approve, but I also knew she wouldn’t pay any attention to the fans when she was walking down the aisle. I was right too!
