We had the old furnace and air conditioning for the same length of time, and so we figured that it was really just a matter of time until the furnace stopped working, too.
We had to find a new HVAC company to help us with our heating and cooling system this past summer and it was the first time that we ever used these guys before. Our old HVAC company that we used to use actually went out of business last year and we just hadn’t found a new one yet. Well, when our air conditioning stopped working, it was still the middle of the hottest part of the summer. We knew that we couldn’t last through the rest of the high temperatures of the summer without a good A/C system and so we looked up a whole bunch of different local HVAC companies. We found a few with really good reviews and then that’s when we started comparing prices. I was shocked at how expensive it was. We decided that since we were going to have to get the air conditioning replaced, we might as well just go ahead and get the furnace replaced at the same time. We decided to be proactive about it and get them both taken care of during the summer when we didn’t actually need the furnace. I think it’s better to get furnace work done in the summer when the furnace isn’t running than to wait till the temperatures are freezing and your heating stops working. Plus, they gave me a great deal when I said I would put a sign for their HVAC company in my front yard.
