In the last few years I have noticed that HVAC technology has really changed.
When I first started working in the HVAC industry there was barely any difference in people’s HVAC systems.
Now when you go to someone’s house, you have no idea what type of HVAC system they will have. It’s likely that someone will have central heating and cooling and the person down the street will have zoned heating and cooling. Take for example my neighbors that have a fireplace and that is their main source of heat, and then my HVAC system is top of the line and the newest in zone control heating and cooling. We both get about the same amount of heat but it differs in how long it takes and how much it costs. Now you can pretty much pick and choose when it comes to any aspect of your house. I really love to be able to choose my own HVAC system and the things that are important to me. I have a smart thermostat because I really wanted to be able to control my HVAC system while I am away. I go on a lot of trips and I always forget to turn the AC off. I have noticed how much money I save having a smart thermostat. Something like a fireplace wouldn’t really work for me because I need a lot more heating. I don’t really care about AC too much because it never gets too hot where I live. It’s a practice to find a good HVAC system that meets all of your needs.
