The story of how my parents got together is pretty neat.
They were raised in a farming community so they were no strangers to hard work. My father’s family was very fortunate to get a nice window A/C unit installed in their home. This was before a lot of people in that area even got access to any type of cooling machine. My father became friends with my mother at school and invited her over to the house a lot. When she first was able to enjoy the air conditioning at dinner one time, it changed her life. She wanted to come over to see my father all the time to enjoy the pleasant air conditioning from time to time. They would typically only use the air conditioning at certain times when the family would get together to eat, and after long hard work days. She even helped out with a lot of the farming work, but she also had to keep up with her own work at home. Unfortunately at her home, they didn’t have A/C. Eventually she convinced her own parents to have an A/C machine installed and they finally saved up for one. Then my father was always going over to her home as well and the families became good friends. Eventually my parents started dating and fell in love with one another. I always thought it was a beautiful story about how they enjoyed the A/C and each other’s company and eventually fell in love like that. I think I probably love the A/C so much because my parents care a great deal about it. Maybe my love for A/C will allow me to meet the right one for me one of these days.
