Living in the south means we don’t have much need for a furnace.
All we really need is an air conditioning unit. I guess a lot of our needs have to do with how far south we live. I have never seen a winter day that was so cold we needed to have a furnace. I have to admit that some of our nights get a bit nippy, but by noon, the sun is out and the temps are back in the seventies. You can’t fault this. I have often wondered how it would be to have snow and be able to go skiing. I’m just not desperate enough to find out that I would move up north. I will also be one of the first to say that when the weather goes above one hundred degrees and the humidity is so high you can wear the air, I’m not fond of the south either. The thing is that I can go inside and have the air conditioning running, no matter where I am. There are days when you just can’t warm no matter what you do. I know about this because my best friend lives up north. Since the air conditioning is so important to us, I make sure to always have the maintenance done on my air conditioner. I call the HvAC company about twice a year, so I can make sure I am alway comfortable, no matter how hot it gets. I had a girlfriend tell me once, that I should have a furnace in my home. I told her that if she got too cold, she could bring her own space heater.
