If you were to ask me, there aren’t things that are much worse than family reunions.
- I’m sure that there are some families out there that have great experiences with those kinds of things, however for me personally they are just the worst.
For example, last year when my sister was chosen to host the family reunion it ended up going south nearly from the start. It was an extremely hot summer day, and the old and run down beach house that we had rented out for the weekend wasn’t up to the challenge of keeping us cool. Maybe it wasn’t the beachouse per say, it was actually due to the tiny window mounted A/C unit in the home. This old thing looked to me like it was built in the 90’s, and considering the weak cool air flow coming from it that is a very generous guess. From the very moment that my sister had been chosen to host I had told her that we were going to need a bigger venue that was more reliable, but thanks to my sister’s cheap mindset she didn’t listen to me. It didn’t take long for the window mounted A/C unit to break down from being pushed to its limit. This led to some fighting within the family, and eventually after another hour or so the reunion was officially cancelled early. I can’t say that I am mad that I was able to get out of this reunion earlier than I expected, but boy it sure was miserable leading up to this point.
