When I got back in touch with an old friend of mine, I was really excited to talk to him.
I said that we definitely had to get together sometime and catch up on things.
He was telling me that he was actually at his vacation home, which I thought was cool. I didn’t have anything as fancy as a vacation home, so I knew that my buddy must have been highly successful. He actually told me he was and it was because he decided to become an HVAC technician. He said that he even installed the HVAC system in his own vacation home. I learned that he has radiant heated floors that are hooked up to a high end water heater. I actually thought that was strange because I always thought they used boilers for radiant heated floors. He said many were like that, but using a high end water heater was actually a better option. I told him he would have to explain that to me when I came out to his place later! He was happy that I was coming to visit, but I honestly was dreading the drive. When I told him that I didn’t want to fly and that I wasn’t sure about driving through the desert to get to his place, he told me to relax, I could easily just take the train. I don’t know why I didn’t think about taking a train, that would be more comfortable and I might even have my own temperature control if I got a roomette. So I took the train and my buddy picked me up. His vacation home is as nice as I imagined.
