A neighbor was visiting my new place & it was the first time we’d seen each other in like a decade; But that’s to be understood given the fact that I’ve lived outside the borders of this country for my entire adult life, she was resting in the study room while I was making us a couple of iced teas! That’s when she asked if I would put the a/c on, however it’s early June in a region that is famous or infamous for the levels of heat & humidity… Additionally, it was right smack dab in the middle of the peak heating hours! While living & toiling overseas, I never had the choice of reaching for the thermostat.
Instead, I might crank up another fan or even put a wet washcloth on my head or the back of my neck.
These were my answers to heat & humidity levels that would shock even the natives of the deep south where I live. Actually, I’m from this region & have recently come condo to transition to a stateside position for the rest of my government career, and my friend, who is also a native of this region, was uncomfortable because the thermostat study 84 degrees. I didn’t even have the thermostat flipped over to cooling. I was sort of embarrassed however my friend and I ended up having a fantastic laugh over it. Still, I am absolutely having to come to grips with so several things that I’m just not accustomed to now that I’m living in my condo country. And having central a/c is on the list. I don’t absolutely like to have the a/c on if I can help it. I get enough of the commercial Heating plus Air Conditioning in the office as it is.
