My boyfriend, Jim, and I have been dating for about three years now long distance. Long distance has been hard, but I had really started to get used to the distance. However, about six weeks ago Jim got a job offer in the same town that I live in, so we thought it would be a good time for us to finally live in the same area. However, it has not been as easy as we thought it would be originally. Jim and I are really happy, but I think we might have moved in together too quickly. I find myself getting annoyed with him over the dumbest things and I can’t get over it. Last week, Jim changed the temperature on the thermostat without asking me and I almost had a mental breakdown. Jim didn’t understand why I cared if he adjusted the thermostat because he said he is always way too hot with the temperature that I set the thermostat to. I like the heat to be turned on, but it turns out that Jim is always hot so he likes to keep the air conditioner running all the time. The worst part of it all is that I can’t sleep with the air conditioner running because I will be shivering all night and Jim can’t sleep with the heat on because he will be sweating. This HVAC issue has become a major fight in our relationship and I am not sure that we are going to recover.
