I recently started a new job.
I was very excited to start because I thought it was going to be my dream job.
However, after being with my new company for about a month, I realized that it’s not exactly what I thought it was going to be. I do enjoy the work that I am djoing, but the environment that I am working in is not great. Everyday I come into the office and it is freezing cold. I am miserable at my desk and I even have to sit on my hands to keep them warm. I have asked my boss if she can adjust the temperature of the thermostat, but she said that no one else is complaining so she isn’t going to change it. I really thought she would be more accommodating to my request to adjust the thermostat, but since she wasn’t I asked if I could bring in a mini space heater to put on my desk. My boss told me that bringing in a mini space heater would be breaking the fire code and was not allowed. I was starting to get really frustrated with my boss because the office is so cold that I can’t be productive. I feel like the air conditioning is constantly running even though it is winter time and we definitely need to warm up the space. I am even starting to think about quitting because I don’t want to have to deal with these heating and cooling issues anymore!
