Every Sunday after church my mom comes over for lunch. We sometimes go to our local favorite restaurant or I’ll make something. I love that my mom wants to come over after church but sometimes I feel like I need time to do other things. I’m never mad though, this is our time and if it’s only for a few hours of the week, then I need to make that time available. She is 72 years old and I’m hoping she lives for another 72! The thing about my mom is that she requests that my central air conditioning is on before she comes over. She wants the house to be at 64 degrees and it doesn’t matter what day it is. It’s strange because in the winter she still wants it at 64 degrees so there are times I have to turn the heater on but then I may have to turn the air conditioning back on to get it to 64 degrees. She is very particular and she checks the temperature of the house when she comes over. She actually checks the thermostat before she even greets me. It’s kind of strange that she wants to spend time with me but judges the temperature of my house and won’t speak to me unless the house is at 64 degrees. She is my mom so I’m not going to argue with her. I just like that she wants to see me. The weird thing is that when we are anywhere else, she doesn’t care about the temperature. That’s really the only thing that bothers me.
