I don’t like finding out that there’s an expensive problem that needs to be fixed.
Whether it’s with the car or the house, I can’t just assure myself that everything is going to be fine.
Because more often than not, things don’t turn out to be fine. I need to get a better job or figure out some way to lower my expenses so that I have money in the bank when there are emergencies. There are a lot of companies that are still trying to hire, but not necessarily within my particular industry. There are always going to be other businesses that I could try to apply to, but there’s no guarantee that I could get a position like the one I have now making the same kind of money. It would be a gamble to try to leave this job for another one, not knowing exactly how much I’ll be making at the new job or if I’ll have the same kind of job security. I have a serious issue with my ventilation system right now at home. My bedroom is a four-degree temperature difference then my kitchen. The HVAC technician explained that whoever designed the dock work for this house, they did not do a very good job. I did not account for how the air would be moving around all of the bends in the ductwork. He said I could buy a new ventilation system for $8,000, or I could spend $500 on dampers. Dampers are really great about restricting airflow and critical areas of your ventilation system. By blocking the airflow from going down certain routes in the ductwork, you force that air to go wherever it’s previously deficient. Basically the parts of the house that weren’t getting air suddenly get more air.
