The HVAC technician said there was an alligator in the ductwork.

I was talking to my dad and asked him what would cause my heating to not get through the ductwork.

It seemed there were some rooms where there was an excess of heat, but there was very little airflow to the living room.

My dad told me there could be a clog in the ductwork, and I should call the HVAC company and have an HVAC technician check it out. The next morning I called the HVAC company. I told them about the lack of airflow into the living room and they set me up with an appointment for the following day. When the HVAC technician got there, we talked about how the ductwork worked to keep the heat and air conditioning going into the entire house. He said there was probably a clog, but it could be something more serious. He tapped on the ductwork, but said he found nothing in the main parts of the ductwork system. He finally told me he was going to open the air vent covers in the living room. Once he removed the air vent covers, he could use a camera on a stick and he could see exactly what was in the ductwork below the air vent. Two minutes later, he told me there was an alligator in the ductwork. I went into panic mode, wondering how an alligator got into the ductwork, let alone into my house. We lived up north. He laughed and reached for a long pair of flexible tongs. He pulled out a plastic alligator that was sucked up against the air duct and not allowing the heat to go by.
