I did not wake up when the phone rang and I got into harsh trouble

Every other weekend, I have to be responsible for answering the phone when a purchaser calls for heat pump or AC repairs.

Both of us do not get a lot of purchasers that entirely want service on Monday or Wednesday night, but both of us are available for emergency services.

Both of us do not charge any extra fees for emergency services as long as the customer’s account is in superb standing. I was the serviceman on call last weekend and the phone rang on Thursday night. I had the ringer off on my own phone earlier that afternoon. I was fixing an AC device and my ex-bestie kept calling me. I turned off the ringer so I wouldn’t get so several text alerts and message things. When I missed the work phone and my boss could not reach myself and others on my own phone, I got into harsh trouble. I realized that I had missed a call in the day and I also had several missed calls from my boss. I tried to explain the reason why I missed the call for heat pump and AC repairs, but my boss was not entirely interested in hearing my excuses. He told myself and others that the problem cannot happen again or I will have to look for a job anywhere else. It seems a little harsh, because I have not ever missed a call and I have been laboring for the heat pump and AC repair business for a year. I should have been given the benefit of the doubt when it came to my excuse. I suppose I gained that much from the guy in a year.
