Grandma as well as grandfather had a winter retreat in the mountains when I was a kid, most older people tend to head down south when it gets cold, but our grandparents loved the mountains and they loved spending the winter season where it’s most appealing, but nearly every winter, our parents would bring us to that log chalet of theirs for a week of fellowship as well as enjoying the spirit of the season, the log cabin was spacious and as appealing as the surrounding area, but there was no central heating or air! Grandfather as well as grandma relied on part heating systems and even a fireplace in the foyer, to keep warm, in addition to that, they had electric blankets. Mom and dad worried that grandma and grandfather would lose power up there while we were in a particularly bad blizzard, though. I’m glad it never happened.
