Heat pump delivers plenty of heating

I was a bit worried when I bought this house and there was only a heat pump.

Where I just moved from, we had central air conditioning but we also had a super gas furnace as well. There is no way you could get through the winters up there without either a gas furnace or a boiler and radiant heating. So while we didn’t move to the south, we did move more toward the south. While there is still a winter, it’s not as intense or long as the one I just left. Still, I just wasn’t so sure when it came to the heat pump. I just didn’t know whether or not I’d be able to have the sort of heating I expected with just a heat pump. However, I have to say that the heat pump sure did prove me wrong and like right away. The first cold snap where the heating came on in earnest was just after Thanksgiving. Had this been back home, the gas furnace would already be running for some weeks if not more than a month. So I was curious just how the heat pump would hold up. To my amazement, the heat pump did just fine. Well really, it did more that just fine. The heat pump makes this house a cozy warm space whenever the cold weather is here. And of course, this type of residential HVAC is magnificent in the summer. It really tosses out the HVAC cooling and we need it. The summer here is much warmer than back home so having a heat pump pays off big time in the summer.
