I have had a lot of monetary expenses over the past year that have made it increasingly difficult to survive. When my washing machine quit working, I thought the worst. I was extremely lucky that it was simply the locking mechanism for the lid to the washing machine, and the part was only $30 on Amazon. I managed to find a video in a matter of minutes showing how to easily replace the broken part with just a simple screwdriver. It’s great because the wires connecting the lid locking component to the brains of the washing machine are easily disconnected by pulling a plug out of a port on the broken component. It’s a similar plug that you’d see on a computer fan before plugging it into a motherboard in the back of a tower PC. These plugs are easy to remove and reattach once the new lid locking device is installed. In minutes I had my washing machine working once again and I was thrilled. Another part that I recently learned how to replace on my own is the UV-C bulb in the back of my air purifier. I had forgotten about it for over a year following the time when it probably quit working. These UV-C bulbs inside air purifiers are only rated to work for 12 months before they become too weak to accomplish the feat of sanitizing your air running through your central HVAC system or air purifier. Since I don’t have a UV-C bulb in my central HVAC system, I just have to worry about the one that is inside of my air purifier. They cost about $25 so they’re not the most expensive part in the world either.
