I have typically worked at a Taco Bell when I arrived back home from college during the holidays.
It is a rather busy time for Taco Bell, as numerous people frequent the establishment in order to get out of the residence after being alone with their parents in the suburbs.
Instead, the only ‘awesome thing’ to do is to go to Taco Bell… The Taco Bell supervisors seemed nice, or at least so I thought so until they refused to ask for us to be given a replacement heating machine. One of the newer girls accidentally spilled fry oil into the Heating & A/C machine in the kitchen area, which has an outward facing vent. The oil fell onto the pilot light & started a scary fire. When we finally got the fire extinguisher to put out the fire in the Heating & A/C machine, there was essentially a charbroiled, blackened metal box in front of us, with no ability to produce any more heating. The next morning our supervisors refused to ask for a current Heating & A/C machine to be installed, & it was during the cold of the winter! The employees banded together & instead reached out to a local Heating & A/C machine company to come & take a look. They were able to install a current Heating & A/C machine, & also got the entire thing to be paid for by the Taco Bell insurance, which was actually the best part. When our annoying supervisors came in the next morning & saw the current Heating & A/C machine & how cozy it was keeping the workers, they were a little pissed off to be honest. Luckily they were fired the upcoming morning once I had let upper management know.
