Last Winter, I decided to visit my aunt who lives in the Midwest part of the country. I had not seen her in about 5 years, so she insisted that I take the trip to see her. I would rather her come to my home because there is more to do here, and the weather is so much better. But she is getting older, and she doesn’t like traveling as much, so it made more sense for me to visit her instead. Well, when I got there the weather was extremely cold. In fact, the day I landed it was 15 degrees outside, and I was not prepared for it at all. I had a heavy coat and I had sweaters, but I should have brought more clothes that I could wear in layers. Luckily, my aunt keeps her house nice and toasty, so as long as I was indoors, I was fine. When I first got there, I liked that her house was warm, but then, I realized the thermostat was set too high for me to sleep comfortably. It was set to 78 degrees, and I thought that was a bit too warm. At home, I barely use my heat in the Winter and when I do, I set the temperature to 68 degrees. This is the temperature that is recommended by the Department of Energy. Not only does it save you money, but it also conserves energy. When I mentioned this to my aunt, she basically disregarded what I was saying. All she cared about was being warm in her home, so I decided to just leave it alone.
