I got into this industry quite by accident, but five years later I am partners with a successful contractor, and co-owner of the company.
I started from humble beginning, running a carpet cleaning business with my husband.
We were the only two employees, and did everything ourselves. When he and I got divorced I got the house and he got the business, so I very much needed a job (or else I would lose the house, too). I started checking with all the local businesses and offices, and that is where I met Nacho. Nacho owned a very small HVAC company, with only three employees, and what he needed was an executive assistant to run the front office. Although I knew nothing about HVAC work, I knew how to organize and manage a small business, so I took the job. Now that I was there to answer the phones and handle the paperwork, Nacho was completely free to focus on the heating and cooling repairs. He was able to take on more jobs, and get them done more quickly, because I was ably handling every other aspect of the HVAC company. Within six months the profits have more than doubled, and we are quickly becoming known as one of the best HVAC companies in town. I have started to learn more about my HVAC techs, and use that to help me route the right jobs to the right people. We are more than a little HVAC company to me, we are a family, and I am very lucky to have found this job!
