Theoretically I could have saved up all the money I needed by not drinking.
It would have taken a few months of sobriety, but the bank account would have gotten pretty fat.
I did not do that, of course, because then what else would I do for fun? Instead I decided to put all my eggs in one basket, so to speak, and wait for my tax refund check to come in. That would give me a few hundred extra bucks to play around with, which meant I could finally get someone to repair my broken air conditioner. The check is already late, and it makes me think it may never come at all, so I have started looking around for alternative cooling solutions. If I can;’t have central AC for the brutal summer months, I at least need something that will take the edge off of the intense heat. The humidity and temps during the summer are hard to handle, even with air conditioning, so I have to get something or I might as well move. Several local stories have portable air conditioners for sale, but there were too many to choose from! I had to return home and spend a few hours online trying to find the best possible A/C unit for my money, because there wasn’t a lot of it to spend. I found what seemed to be the best deal for the best A/C unit, and so far I am pleased with the results. It’s not the same as central air conditioning, but it surely beats sweating to death!
