These days, I’m spending a lot of time on Zillow looking at houses for sale. I have my mind set on making a purchase in the next year, so I’ve been doing a lot of research and waiting for the right moment to strike. I’ve learned a lot about the housing market during this time, and I feel like I can make better decisions thanks to my slow approach. One of the things I’ve learned about during this house hunting is the availability of alternative heating forms besides forced air furnaces. I guess I never knew that there were other types of heating for modern homes. This is surprising to me, because I come from the northern region of the country where it’s extremely cold. I thought I knew a thing or two about furnaces because we were always running or central heating system. However, now I know that there are many options besides your plain old forced air furnace. Many of the homes in this area are equipped with something called dual system and heating plans. This essentially means that there is a heat pump and a traditional furnace utilized for maximum heat and power and Energy savings. When it isn’t terribly cold out, the heat pump can deliver adequate energy to the home without engaging the forced air furnace. When it gets cooler, you’re forced air furnace kicks into gear and really heat things up. If I ever change my mind and move up north, I’ll be incredibly comfortable and ready to save on my energy bills. These days, I know more about heaters and never before.
