My little one plays on a travel baseball team and even though it’s the middle of the nippy season, they have already started practice.
The site where they practice is a massive indoor facility, and sometimes they have legitimately major problems with the heating and cooling appliance inside of the site. Last month when he went to practice, it was frigid and frosty outside. We actually had a low recently of one degree and I believe the temperature on the night of practice was only in the single digits, but it was super cold. It’s a fantastic thing I made him wear his long pants and layer up his shirts, because when he arrived at practice, it seemed that the heating appliance had gone down again. Inside of the facility, it was frigid. The coaches were running around trying to find little electric section furnaces that they could locate here and there throughout the gym, however they only found one. They put it in the dugout section so the players could try to warm up their hands when they were waiting their turn at bat. The whole thing was just a mess to be honest. I wondered why they did not just cancel practice and let the kids go back to their dwellings where they could be safe and sizzling in their dwellings where their gas furnace absolutely worked. These coaches are crazy when it comes to practice. It’s like they assume that they have to have practice every single month regardless of what the weather is like.
