I enjoy being part of our town and that’s sort of a new thing for me. Having not been a homeowner for all that long, I spent my adult life until now in apartments. Along with the inadequate HVAC equipment, I wasn’t all that into our neighbors and sharing walls. It sure made it easier to save all I could for a downpayment on this house. But the more I lived here, the more I loved getting to know the neighbors and interacting with them. While I loved the privacy of the air conditioner inside our home, there was something nice about being in that section of the town. One acquaintance in certain became a go to sort of woman. We both were thrilled to help one another when there was a situation that might need an extra pair of hands. So when that acquaintance texted me that she was having a problem with the HVAC equipment, I was more than willing to assist. Of course, I’m not a trained, certified plus licensed HVAC professional and neither was he. However, this guy was super handy around the home and could repair anything. I’m not that way but I am pretty great at holding a flashlight. That’s exactly what I did as our acquaintance attempted to recharge the refrigerant on the air conditioner. The experience was a great lesson for me in homeownership. HVAC components are to be diagnosed by HVAC professionals only. My acquaintance effectively made a mess of the situation and ended up paying double what she would have had she called the HVAC supplier first.
