When I was 16 years old I figured out how to repair our heating and air conditioning system.
I grew up in a home where we did not have good quality heating and AC.
There was this one time however that my dad has spent some extra money to buy an upgrade for us. He had spent some of his savings to get us a nice air conditioner since we were always talking about how hot it was during the summer. My siblings and I already love this air conditioner and every time it was hot we would crowd around it and try to soak up as much cool air as possible. However like with anything that didn’t last forever and eventually broke down. I begged my parents to fix it however they just did not have the money to and so I decided I would try to fix it myself. I went to my local library and gathered as many books and information I could on heating and cooling systems as I could find. I read through every book and every manual that I can get my hands on and after studying for 6 months I felt fairly confident that I would be able to repair our air conditioner. I even offered to shadow other people that were HVAC technicians to help learn how to repair air conditioners. My hard work was not done in vain because after all of my studying, I finally took the chance of repairing the air conditioner. I took a risk because I never got my parents permission to do so and if I had messed up and damaged it I knew it’d be in big trouble. Thankfully their repair was a success and in no time we had wonderful cool air coming out of the AC system once again. I had done all of my research and purchased all the necessary tools to get the job done and it had worked in the end.
