Last year taught me a lot.
- It taught me that we are much more vulnerable as a country to something such as a mass virus.
But I guess our vulnerability was exponentially increased because we couldn’t act together to confront it. That was incredibly exhausting to witness as I hunkered down in the a/c of our home. I also l received that our job was a lot less secure than I thought. Taking a pay cut plus easily working from the a/c of our apartment are the only things that kept me working at all. And that’s after 20 plus years of repairs to the same dealer. So there were a lot of taxing lessons to be l received over the past year. But there were some welcome lessons to be l received as well. For one, I figured out how to reduce our spending a good deal. And I have kept that going. This warm season, I easily got proactive about saving all I could on HVAC cooling. Last year, I saved some, however this year I went all in plus have saved a bundle. I sealed up the apartment in every conceivable way that I could to ensure the cool air stays in while the heat stays out. I invested in solar shades plus a smart temperature control. They have jobs in tandem to negate the effects of direct sunshine heating. And the smart temperature control is doing a beautiful job making sure that we aren’t over cooling during the peak heating hours of the day. I can’t believe how much currency there was to save on HVAC cooling.
