Can’t sleep without a fan; AC okay

I’ve gotta tell you, I understand how humans become isolated and eccentric over their lifetimes.

For most of my younger years I was oblivious to the ways that the world will impact your brain. I didn’t understand that you would get more and more particular with time. That your thinking would become more and more rigid. That your options would become more and more limited. That’s why I’ve been upset with myself for suddenly becoming so strange when it comes to falling asleep at night. Apparently my brain no longer accepts the idea unless there’s a fair amount of indoor air temperature control to manage all my feelings and even my thoughts. You see, my brain is accustomed to hearing a fan all night long as background noise. I never realized that a simple box fan really made any difference in my mentality until the day I didn’t have one. My box fan broke that day, probably from being a 15 year old ventilation device. I didn’t worry much about replacing the circulation system because I had a powerful central AC to rely on, anyways. Surely I wouldn’t need to get myself a fan right away when I had plenty of cooling power in my highly efficient air conditioner system. Well, I was wrong. It turns out that the sound of the AC unit is nothing like the noise provided by the box fan. When I attempted to sleep I couldn’t get a wink of rest without an old janky ventilation box blowing on my face. I laid as close to the AC unit as possible, but it was too quiet and gentle to fill the void. By the next morning, I was running into my local retail establishment and buying up every fan they had in stock.
