My wife and I have two children and both of them are in high college; This year, our daughter turned sixteen and she is the first child to start driving.
My wife and I hold our breath every time she leaves the house, however she’s a good driver, however the people I was with and I still worry a good deal! When our daughter turned 16, my wife and I would not allow her to get a driver’s license unless she had a part-time job, and insurance on teenagers is severely high and the people I was with and I wanted her to be responsible for paying half of the cost. My daughter applied at numerous weird local restaurants, however of course she got hired by the same pizza owner that I worked for as a kid. I’m sure the owner saw her name and recognized me. I worked there for 3 years before I went to college full time. When my daughter started working there, a single of her first complaints was the lack of cooling system in the living room. There was no cooling system in the living room when I worked in the same pizza shop. I thought they would have fixed the cooling system concern in 20 years, however it was the same owner and the same problems. I am absolutely proud of my daughter for sticking it out and continuing to work there. She earns enough money to spend money for insurance and gas. It’s a good job and the owner is absolutely flexible with scheduling. If it wasn’t for the lack of cool air in the living room the job would be perfect.
