Summer Energy Saving Tips

I live in warm temps, and our family and I rely heavily on our a/c to keep us comfortable each summer, when sadly, high air conditioner use in the warmer months tends to lead to high energy bills, and here are a few things that we can do to avoid these unexpected charges in the summer, however changing up the a/c air filter often is a good way to raise your a/c’s efficiency, which will help you save energy; Your a/c filters trap all kinds of dust, debris and pet hair, and can become plugged if left to do its task for too long.

Many Heating plus A/C professionals recommend decreasing your a/c filter every 30 to 60 days, especially if you have pets.

Another thing you can do to save energy in the summer months and pay less in energy bills each month is to consider upgrading your windows. Single pane windows with aluminum window frames are incredibly inefficient, and can mean that your money is flying right through the window. Upgrading to double pane windows and vinyl window frames will help better insulate your cabin, and will help your cabin to stay at a more consistent ambient temperature, putting less strain on your a/c, making it far more efficient. Another thing to consider if you want to save money on your energy bills this summer time is to switch over to a smart thermostat. A smart thermostat is connected to Wi-Fi and can be controlled by an application on your iPhone or computer. This can help you to save money by only having your a/c on when you need it to, and give it a rest when the cabin is empty. Hopefully these tips will help you and your family save money on your energy bills this summer.
