My co-worker and I went out to work on a residential AC repair.
The AC unit was located on the customer’s roof, so my co-worker and I had to get the tallest ladder off the back of the truck.
All of the AC units in this particular neighborhood are on the roofs, so I’m accustomed to standing out in the sun all day. I climbed the ladder first and then my coworker followed. Both of us were on the roof checking out the AC problems, when it started to rain. There was only a little bit of rain, so we didn’t bother stopping to wait for it to end. Both of us were careful when we placed our feet on the roof. The rain subsided after 5 or 10 minutes. It started to get even hotter after it rained. We located the problem with the rooftop AC unit, but we had to go to the hardware store to pick up a part. We were gone for 30 minutes and then right back to the residential home. The sun was shining very bright when I climbed the ladder to work on the AC repair. I almost lost my balance when the sun hit me in the eye. Luckily, I grabbed the side of the ladder when both of my feet slipped. Between the slippery conditions and the outrageous sun, the AC repair was one dangerous situation. Both of us were happy when we finally completed the repair. I think my heart was racing all day after nearly falling twenty feet onto the pavement.
