So I ended up going with some more expensive air filters that fit my HVAC system
For a long time, I used cheap air filters in my HVAC system. Eventually I started to wonder about other air filters and why they were so expensive. I saw this one guy getting HEPA air filters and I asked him why he would opt to pay so much for air filters. That’s when he told me that HEPA air filters pull 99.9% of the contaminants from the air. He said he has bad allergies and they are the only air filters that work for him. When he saw I had the cheap fiberglass air filters, he asked me why I would use those cheap things. He said they don’t protect the HVAC system like they should and they allow for poor air quality in the home. I thought about it and realized that my air quality wasn’t that great and I suddenly realized the reason for that, the air filters. I thanked the guy for advising that I use higher quality air filters and he briefly told me about the MERV ratings and how they showed the quality of the air filters. The higher the MERV rating, the better. So I ended up going with some more expensive air filters that fit my HVAC system. I couldn’t believe that I was buying expensive air filters, but I figured I would go right back if they didn’t work. Well, I couldn’t believe how well they worked and I finally could appreciate why people opt for higher quality air filters. I have noticed improvements in my health and I feel more comfortable in my home.
