Remarkably, I actually like spending as much time with my family as I can.
- There are four of us, not including the cats and dog.
We end up doing so much together. We play in a softball league and like to have game nights with all our friends over. It may sound sort of lame but, this is what I had hoped for when we had kids. My wife and I were that couple that was always on the go doing fun, adventurous stuff together. I was really worried that once we had children, we would be moping around the house or sitting on our butts in the HVAC air conditioning. Thankfully, this was not to be. I don’t know if we have such good children because of our lifestyle or just genetic bingo. Either way, we strapped them into the car and we were off for adventures from the time they could basically hold their little heads up. It seemed like we were off doing something every other weekend. And we never flew really. It was just too much of a pain with little kids. Instead we hit the road in our trusty van. And we always stayed in those motels off the interstate. First, they were far more budget friendly. Then, we also fell in love with the free breakfasts and the HVAC. Those big HVAC units that you can see from the parking lot were our siren song. We have never been let down by those things. It is so awesome to be able to either heat up or cool down a motel room in mere minutes. Plus, the sound put the kids to sleep in minutes. We still do all sorts of travel adventures together. And we also still choose where we’ll stay by what sort of breakfast is offered and whether or not we can see the HVAC units from the parking lot.
