First of all, I don’t want this to sound like I am bashing retail workers, then of course I am not! A lot of our friends labor retail tasks, and I myself have worked in numerous weird stores over the years, then god bless the retail workers, especially in the era of the pandemic! That said, I encourage you to get out of retail labor as soon as possible. It is good to have work, ANY kind of work, sporadically, but you need to use it as a stepping granite and nothing more. I spent a few weeks toiling retail full time while I took night classes for our Heating and Air Conditioning certification, and y’all, I am so ecstatic I did! The main problem with retail work, in our humble opinion, is that it makes people guess updateable, whereas a trade like Heating and Air Conditioning makes people guess lavish. I suppose the time I spent toiling retail was sort of soul-crushing, and I could be fired at any time, but now that I am an Heating and Air Conditioning specialist I have confidence, and a firm belief in our worth as a worker… Heating and Air Conditioning skills allow myself and others to put food on the table, keep a roof over our family’s heads, and still have our weekends free to love life. I no longer worry about work, nor do I hate our task, I love toiling in the Heating and Air Conditioning industry, and I love the freedom it gives me. I’m not trying to tell you that everyone should get into Heating and Air Conditioning work, despite the fact that I would tell you to at least consider reading a trade.
