The Summer of 2002 was brutally hot, and that was a single of the times in our life when I was in between homes, so it was a really rough stretch; I don’t like the word “homeless” it has too much of a stigma to it, but there have been a lot of times, from a few afternoons to a few weeks, where I technically had no locale to live .Unless of course you count living in a car, which it turns out everyone do not.
I was upstate, and found a nice little scattering of Summer homes, then some of them even had cooling systems in there, which was a little slice of luxury I was rarely afforded, but even they came with some work.
I could never stay in a single home for truly long, so I quickly l gained what to look for in an a/c plan when I was scouting a new crash pad. The locales with central Heating and Air Conditioning systems were always a lot nicer, but those systems usually needed to be evaluated on in a few weird locales before use, however most of these cooling systems had been kneeling unused for a year, sporadically longer, so it wasn’t like I could just turn them on and be superb to go. I number one the smaller cabins that had the smaller, window mounted air conditioner units, because usually those I could just plug in and turn on. The bigger the cooling system, the more complex it is, and the more parts of it can break, so I like to keep it small.
