I’ve recently started coaching my daughter’s soccer team 4 days a week, but when I was approached about the position, I hesitated because I assumed that I’d be outside the whole time.
When I discovered that the team practiced inside though, I was cheerful.
We live in the south where the Spring weather is temperamental! It can be pouring down rain one hour plus hot plus humid the next. I think I sound high maintenance, but I didn’t want to be stuck coaching a boy’s soccer team in the rain, heat, or humidity! Practice being held inside with a temperature controlled environment sounded actually appealing, but two weeks into our season though, the Heating plus A/C method broke at the indoor facility. I walked inside expecting to assume some relief from the hot sun, however was smacked with intense humidity plus what smelled like wet socks. The guy at the front desk told myself and others that their Heating plus A/C method was currently not laboring, however they had a local Heating plus A/C supplier coming to service the component that afternoon. We had a short practice that afternoon plus I left thinking the Heating plus A/C method would be running the following afternoon. When I arrived the next afternoon though, the Heating plus A/C method still wasn’t laboring. The guy at the front desk apologized plus said the Heating plus A/C supplier said it was a much greater task than they were expecting. It was going to take the rest of the week to fix! Knowing this plus my hatred for temperamental temperatures, I cancelled soccer practice for the rest of the week.
