I don’t get enough respect as an HVAC tech from my coworkers

When I was the new girl on the work site, I got a lot of the older workers who talked down to me.

It is called mansplaining, and is when males talk to females as if they are total idiots that need to have everything spelled out as if they are children.

Then this is condescending & irritating at best, & blatantly insulting the rest of the time… But at first I just dealt with it, after all I was the new worker, so maybe that’s why they talked down to me; nope, it turns out it’s the gender gap, because I have been a certified heating & A/C serviceman for a year now, & these jerks are still mansplaining our work to me… Little do these old jerks know that the whole reason I am here is because the major heating & A/C corporations saw a lack of professional people in their industry, and have been now working to undo that… But you know what, mansplainers? Some people, such as single moms and vulnerable older women, aren’t cool with these caveman-like heating & A/C techs coming into their homes; but market research indicated that a lot of people would be just as comfortable, if not more comfortable, in dealing with a female heating & A/C tech. I can’t say that I blame them, especially after now working side by side with this older generation of air conditioning repair techs. I hope it isn’t too much longer before they hire another female heating & A/C tech because I am about running out of patience with these guys. However, one afternoon I will be running this heating & A/C repair team, and then finally things will entirely change.
