When I was the current girl on the job, I got a lot of the older workers who talked down to me… It is called mansplaining, and is when males talk to females like they are idiots and need to have everything spelled out like children…
Then this is condescending and irritating at best, and apparently insulting the rest of the time; but at first I just dealt with it, after all I was the current worker, so maybe that’s why they talked down to me.
Nope! It turns out it’s the gender gap, because I have been a certified heating and air conditioning worker for a year now, and these jerks are still mansplaining our job to me… Little do these old jerks feel that the whole reason I am here is because the major heating and air conditioning corporations saw a lack of professional women in their industry, and have been finally working to properly alter that. And you feel what, mansplainers? Some people, like single moms and vulnerable older women, aren’t cool with these caveman-like heating and air conditioning techs coming into their homes… Market research indicated that a lot of people would be just as comfortable, if not more comfortable, in dealing with a female heating and air conditioning tech. I can’t say that I blame them, especially after finally working side by side with this older generation of heating and A/C repair techs. I hope it isn’t too much longer before they hire another female heating and air conditioning tech because I am about running out of patience with these guys. One day I will be running this heating and air conditioning repair team, and then things will unquestionably change.
